Processing Order of NAT Rules.

In short, by assigning NAT rules to a policy, you can control the order in which the rules are processed. The first matching rule in the policy is applied, and subsequent rules are skipped.

To validate the order of NAT rules within NAT policies and ensure they are evaluated correctly you can follow these steps:

  1. NSX Manager UI –> Networking –> NAT –>  Select the NSX Edge for which you want to view or modify NAT rules –> NAT Policies –>Select the NAT policy you want to validate and review the list of NAT Rules in the sequence.
  2. Pay attention to the priority values assigned to each NAT rule. Lower priority values indicate higher precedence (Lower priority vallue will be evaluated first). Ensure that the rules are prioritized correctly according to your intended order of evaluation.
  3. If necessary, adjust the order of the NAT rules within the NAT policy by using the provided interface controls. Typically, you can drag and drop the rules to rearrange their order. Save the changes to the NAT policy.
